Booking Process

If you're considering booking me for your wedding, then this page provides an overview of the service you'll receive before, during and after your big day!

Step 1 - Establish contact

This is easy - you just need to fill in the contact form, letting me know when & where you're planning on getting married! We can then exchange a couple of emails to confirm availability etc, and arrange an introductory meeting...

Step 2 - Initial meeting

Wherever possible, I prefer to meet in person over a coffee or cake - however, if it's not possible to arrange a face-to-face meeting, we can do so virtually instead.

The initial meeting is absolutely critical for two reasons:
1. You might be trusting me to document the most important day of your lives, so it makes sense for you to know who you're dealing with!
2. Equally, the better I can get to know you, the more I can tailor my approach to you and your unique wedding day.

In the meeting, we'll discuss your wedding plans, to understand how I can fit in and capture everthing in all its glory. Some people prefer their photographer to be front and centre; others prefer a more discreet approach; most couples want a bit of both! Ultimately, it's your wedding and therefore completely your choice, but if asked then I'm happy to offer guidance on what generally works best.

If more than one meeting is required, then that's fine by me - I want to ensure that you're confident in my understanding of your requirements, so that you have one less thing to worry about in the build up to your wedding.

Step 3 - Paperwork

Boring, but necessary - but we'll keep it as quick and painless as possible! Once we've agreed what you require, I'll provide a contract for your review and signature. If required, I can also provide evidence of my insurance policies, DBS checks, etc.

Step 4 - Engagement shoot (optional!)

If you've decided on an engagement shoot, then we'll arrange and do this at a mutually convenient time. Ideally, we'll find a lovely location that means something to you both... but don't worry if nothing springs to mind, as I have a number of tried and tested places for you to consider.

Step 5 - Preparation

A crucial if unseen part of successful wedding photography - in the build up to the wedding, I'll spend plenty of time reviewing your requirements and visiting (where possible) / researching the venue to ensure that nothing is left to chance. Before the day, I will familiarise myself with the most photogenic spots at the venue - and, perhaps even more importantly, work out where we can shelter in case of rain!

Step 6 - The Big Day!

The fun bit!! We'll already have discussed and prepared for everything, so you'll be free to enjoy your wedding day without having to worry about anything (other than losing the rings, obviously).

I'll be present for as long as you need me, to capture the joy, love and fun of your celebrations!

Step 7 - Enjoy your photos!

After your wedding is over, my hard work begins - reviewing the thousands of photos that I took on the day, to create a curated selection of the most memorable moments. After editing the best images, I'll upload them to a secure online gallery and share the link with you - you can then download and share them as you wish!

It usually takes up to a week to review, select and individually edit every image to a high standard, and I take my time rather than rushing everything through without sufficient care. However, I'll pick out a few of the best shots to give you a sneak preview within 24 hours, so that you can share these with your loved ones almost immediately!
